CONFINED SPACES

Working CONFINED SPACES

A confined space is any space that has limited or restricted means of entry or exit and is usually large enough for only one person to enter to perform tasks. Confined spaces present special hazards to workers, including risks of toxic or asphyxiant gas accumulation. Confined spaces include for instance: underground vaults, tanks, storage bins, manholes, pits, silos and pipelines.

According to Labor Safety Regulation these confined spaces have to be sanified through ventilation or other means. Moreover the worker has to be a trained or competent person to enter a confined place with a respirator and other safety tools.

The use of the suction excavator in confined space enables the removal of the material and above all the ventilation of the working area.
