ACR S.p.A., a company of the Herambiente Group, consolidates its leadership in remediation: the “Gerotto EAR” branch of the company now has been acquired

ACR S.p.A. will acquire the Gerotto EAR branch of business from Gerotto Federico S.r.l., a division specializing in the remediation and regeneration of contaminated sites, particularly in confined spaces, using advanced technological equipment. The transaction also strengthens the commercial partnership between the two companies, with a focus on the petrochemical, water treatment, and cement industries, as well as emergency response and post-disaster operations.

The agreement will officially come into effect on July 1, 2025

This acquisition further expands the presence of ACR S.p.A.—based in Mirandola (MO) and a subsidiary of Herambiente S.p.A.—in the remediation and industrial cleaning sectors. The binding agreement for the purchase of the Gerotto EAR business unit from Gerotto Federico S.r.l., based in Campodarsego (PD), was signed this morning. Subject to standard closing conditions, the transaction is expected to be finalized within the first half of 2025, with an effective date of July 1.

Gerotto EAR’s Expertise in Excavation and Cleaning of Sensitive Environments

Gerotto EAR is a division of Gerotto Federico Srl that specializes in operations within confined or high-risk environments, thanks to the specific expertise of its operators and the use of high-tech, non-invasive equipment—such as suction excavators and robots—developed or distributed by the company itself. Its key areas of intervention include material suction, silo and tank cleaning, environmental remediation, and non-destructive excavation in areas with underground utilities or extensive root systems. In general, Gerotto EAR’s equipment and personnel are used in confined spaces or ATEX-rated environments (explosion-risk areas), where they significantly reduce the need for direct human involvement, thereby lowering operational risks.

Alberto Reggiani: “Integrating Unique, High-Quality Expertise into ACR”

“This acquisition is particularly important in terms of quality,” explains Alberto Reggiani, CEO of ACR. “We are integrating into ACR a unique and strategic know-how essential for operating in extremely complex environments, where effective interventions are required in confined spaces that do not allow for human entry and therefore demand meticulous planning and management. This move enhances our service offering in sectors such as oil and gas, process chemicals, civil and industrial water treatment, glass manufacturing, and cement production, as well as post-disaster remediation. We believe this expansion will also support our commercial growth by creating opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling.”

Alessandro Gerotto: “Sharper Focus on the Development of Machines and Equipment”

“We are extremely pleased with this agreement with ACR,” says Alessandro Gerotto, CEO of Gerotto Federico. “On one hand, it allows us to further concentrate on the development of robotic machines and equipment—a sector in which we already hold a global leadership position. On the other, it strengthens our long-standing partnership with ACR, a company we have worked with for years as both supplier and partner, and with whom we will now be able to serve our target markets even more effectively.”
