Gerotto Becomes an IECEx Certified Manufacturer of Intrinsically Safe Electrical Equipment

Gerotto has achieved a significant milestone in its technological and industrial development by obtaining the IECEx Certificate of Conformity for two of its proprietary electrical devices: the G-Visiolamp Intrinsically Safe LED Lamp and the G-Opticam Intrinsically Safe Camera.

Both products are already certified for ATEX Zone 0 applications and have been developed to operate safely in explosive atmospheres, supporting remote operations, industrial robotics and hazardous-area inspections.

With this achievement, Gerotto further strengthens its position as a technology provider for hazardous industrial environments. The company is now not only a manufacturer of robotic systems designed for confined spaces and explosive atmospheres, but also an IECEx-certified manufacturer of intrinsically safe electrical equipment.

IECEx certification: an international passport

The IECEx certification scheme is internationally recognized and widely adopted across global industrial markets. It provides an internationally accepted framework for demonstrating compliance with the highest safety standards for equipment intended for use in hazardous areas.

The certified products represent a key component of Gerotto’s robotic ecosystem. The G-Visiolamp delivers high-performance illumination in environments where safety requirements are critical, while the G-Opticam is AI-ready and provides reliable visual monitoring and remote operation capabilities in potentially explosive atmospheres.

“The IECEx Certificate of Conformity confirms our long-term commitment to developing technologies that combine innovation, operational efficiency and the highest safety standards,” says Alberto Feletto, Technical and R&D Manager at Gerotto. “Expanding our IECEx-certified product range strengthens our ability to support customers operating in highly regulated and critical industrial environments worldwide.”

The certification also supports Gerotto’s broader strategy of enabling safer industrial operations through robotics, remote technologies and intrinsically safe equipment that reduce human exposure to hazardous environments.

Today, Gerotto’s solutions are used in sectors such as oil & gas, tank storage, petrochemical, chemical processing, energy and other industries where explosive atmospheres require the highest levels of operational safety and regulatory compliance.
